Craftsmanship of the future. Artistry that endures. Tiffany & Co. and artist Daniel Arsham began collaborating in 2021, united by a spirit of inventiveness. Their latest creation – the Bronze Eroded Tiffany Penny Vessel – is a masterpiece.
A limited series of 39 works, each sculpture is crafted from patinated bronze with highly polished crystals. This penny-inspired vessel opens to reveal the ultimate treasure: a limited-edition Tiffany & Arsham Studio HardWear necklace.
Inside the sculpture is a limited-edition Tiffany & Arsham Studio HardWear necklace in 18k white gold, hand set with over 1,000 diamonds of over 6 total carats and over 500 tsavorites of over 3 total carats. Inspired by a 1962 design, it embodies love’s strength and New York’s resilience. Tsavorites, a Tiffany legacy gemstone introduced in 1974, reflect both the patina and Arsham Studio’s signature green.
‘The original drawing that I made of the penny in 2013 was a collection of different coins from around the world. I’m fascinated by objects that last a really long time. In, say, a museum from antiquity, we find coins from centuries ago. So, taking an element from the present and forcing it to appear old through these drawings and through this sculpture, we link the past and the present in a particular way. Of course, Tiffany has nearly two centuries of heritage, so there’s an interesting connection there.’
